Muskingum County is located 50 miles east of Columbus, Ohio.
Muskingum County was named from the Native American Word meaning “near the river”.
It was established on March 1, 1804 and contains a land area of 664.6 square miles.
The County seat is Zanesville. Visitors to our area will be interested in many of the historical, cultural and geographical features of our county.
